Technician Duties

As a technician, you will be in charge of servicing vehicles. The dispatcher will give you a repair order, and you will move the customer's vehicle to the stall area. You must then perform any work outlined on the repair order accurately and efficiently, following dealership and factory standards, as well as federal, state, and local regulations governing service repair work. If you find that additional work is needed, that the repair work will not be ready in the time promised, or if the work in the repair order is not necessary, you will need to let the service advisor know immediately.

When you perform a service that requires new parts or fluids, it will be your responsibility to connect with the parts department to obtain these parts. In some instances, you may also need to tag and save old parts. Whatever service you perform, you must document your work and end by road testing the vehicle to verify the resolution of the problem.

As a technician at McGavock Nissan of Lubbock, you will be required to attend regular training classes and keep abreast of the factory’s technical bulletins. You must also make sure that the customers' vehicles are kept clean.
